Lab Grown Diamond Bridal Sets: The 2026 Buyer's Guide

Lab grown diamond bridal set, engagement ring and matching band, on a white background

How matched sets actually work, what they cost in 2026, and how to buy one that holds its standard. Written by the team that has tracked lab grown diamond pricing since 2020.

A bridal set is an engagement ring and a wedding band designed as one piece, the band contoured to sit flush against the ring. Bought together, the two stones are matched in colour and clarity and the metals are worked to age as a pair. A lab grown set delivers this at roughly a third of the mined price. Draco sets start at $2,739 CAD, every stone IGI certified E to F colour, VS2 clarity or better.

What is a lab grown diamond bridal set?

A bridal set is two rings sold as one design: the engagement ring that carries the center stone, and a wedding band shaped to fit against it. The band is not a separate purchase that happens to sit nearby. It is contoured to the ring's profile, so a marquise nests into a chevron, a pear meets an eternity line, a solitaire drops into a plain channel without a gap.

The point of buying the set together is consistency. Both stones are graded to the same standard at the same time, so the colour matches and the clarity matches. The metals are the same alloy and wear at the same rate. Assembled later from two separate purchases, none of that is guaranteed, and the mismatch shows most in the one place people look closest.

A matched set, or the ring and band bought separately?

Both are valid. The difference is control. A set removes the guesswork; two separate purchases give you more freedom but more ways to get it wrong.

Matched bridal set Ring and band bought apart
Stone match Colour and clarity graded together, E to F, VS2 or better across both Sourced at different times, often a visible colour step
Fit Band contoured to sit flush Gaps and overlap are common
Design One silhouette, resolved as a pair Two aesthetics forced together
Price One set price, from $2,739 Two retail markups, two shipping and sizing cycles

How much does a lab grown diamond bridal set cost?

A lab grown set costs a fraction of the mined version at the same specification. Independent 2026 data puts lab grown diamonds at roughly 73 percent below mined, which tracks our own per carat research since 2020. Draco bridal sets currently run from $2,739 to $5,067 CAD, priced by center carat weight, metal, and band design.

What moves the price is the center stone first, then the metal. A 3 carat marquise in 14K sits near the floor; a 7 carat pear with a full eternity band in platinum sits at the top. Everything in between is a carat and a metal decision, not a markup decision. If you have a quote from another retailer, our Beat My Quote desk will match or beat it on a comparable IGI certified set.

How to choose your set

Center shape. The center stone sets the whole design. Marquise and pear read large for their weight and suit contoured bands. Round and oval are the safe, timeless centers. Choose the shape first, then the band follows it.

Band silhouette. A chevron or bypass band wraps a pointed stone; an eternity band frames a round or oval; a plain contoured band lets the center carry the piece. The band is where a set earns its name, so it is worth more attention than most buyers give it.

Metal. Draco sets are available across the full range, silver, 10K to 18K gold, and platinum. Platinum holds prongs hardest over decades; 14K white gold is the practical default. The metal is also the single biggest lever on price after carat.

Certification. Every Draco stone is IGI certified E to F colour, VS2 clarity or better. That is the floor, not the ceiling, and it is why the two stones in a set actually match. Read our IGI certificate guide before you compare sets anywhere.

A set is not two rings that happen to match. It is one design, cut and coloured to a single standard, then split in two.

Why lab grown for a bridal set

A lab grown diamond is a diamond. Same carbon lattice, same hardness, same fire, certified on the same IGI scale as a mined stone. The only difference is origin, and origin is exactly what collapsed the price. That is what makes a matched set affordable at all: buying two graded stones instead of one no longer doubles a punishing bill.

It also removes the sourcing question. There is no mine, no chain of custody to audit, no premium paid for scarcity that lab supply has already erased. You can read the full decline in our lab diamond price trend report, which tracks per carat rates from 2020 to now.

The Draco standard

We publish our pricing research rather than hide behind a markup, and we reject stones that do not clear the bar. Every set ships with the same protection: 30 day returns, a Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee, one complimentary resize within 60 days, and free insured worldwide shipping with signature on delivery. The stone is IGI certified E to F, VS2 or better, before it is ever set. If a set cannot meet that standard, it does not go in the catalog.

Frequently asked

What is a lab grown diamond bridal set?
An engagement ring paired with a wedding band shaped to fit against it, bought together as one set. Both stones are IGI certified, E to F colour, VS2 clarity or better, and matched at the point of grading.
Do the ring and band actually match?
Yes. The band is contoured to the ring's profile so the two sit flush, and both stones are colour and clarity matched, unlike a band bought separately at a later date.
How much does a lab grown diamond bridal set cost?
Draco bridal sets start at $2,739 CAD and run to about $5,067, priced by center carat weight, metal, and design. A comparable mined set costs roughly three to four times as much.
Can a bridal set be resized?
Yes. One complimentary resize within 60 days of delivery, up to two sizes.
Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as a mined diamond and is graded on the same IGI scale. The only difference is that it was grown rather than extracted.
What if I find a lower price elsewhere?
Send us the quote through Beat My Quote and we will match or beat it on a comparable IGI certified set.
