We say this because we have to mean it. A made to order brand survives on reputation or it does not survive. We know which one we are building.

The right ring will feel found, not bought. A 3 carat marquise center, flanked by smaller marquise that look pressed in from another century. One 3.00 carat marquise cut lab diamond at center, 14.10 millimeters long, E to F color, VS+ clarity, IGI certified. Four marquise side stones at 0.40 carats total form fanned clusters on each shoulder, set with eight round pavé accents at 0.08 carats. 3.50 carats total weight. The marquise cut was commissioned in 1740. The side clusters borrow from Edwardian filigree. The band is quiet and modern. Three eras, one ring, your finger.

Sizing & Styling +

Standard ring sizes 4 to 10 available. The tapered solitaire band can be resized within three sizes either direction without compromising the cluster shoulders. Specify your size at checkout. Free first resize within 60 days of delivery if you guessed wrong. Email info@dracodiamond.com for a complimentary print at home ring sizer before ordering.

Wears on the ring finger as an engagement ring. Pairs with a plain band, a contour band that nests against the cluster shoulders, or a vintage milgrain band, depending on the wedding look. Ask us to design a matching band on request, included in the price for orders over CA$2,500.

Yellow gold is the most historically accurate match for marquise and reads warm against most skin. White gold and platinum give a modern read. Rose gold sits romantic and pairs especially well with the vintage cluster shoulders. Silver delivers the white gold effect at the lowest price point. Platinum is the most durable for daily engagement wear.

Other jewelry should sit quieter than this ring. Small studs, a delicate chain, a watch. Skip wide cocktail rings on the same hand, the marquise length wants the eye to itself.

Questions
What is the history of the marquise cut? + The marquise cut was commissioned in 1740 by King Louis XV of France, who asked his jewelers to design a diamond that mirrored the smile of his mistress, the Marquise de Pompadour. The result was an elongated oval with two sharp points, originally called the navette (little boat). It is one of the oldest named diamond shapes still in regular use and carries one of the most romantic origin stories in fine jewelry.
Will the points of the marquise chip? + The two points of a marquise are the most vulnerable part of the stone. Our setting uses V-tip prongs, a tip shaped specifically to cover and shield each point from impact. This is the industry standard protective setting for marquise and pear cuts. Treat the ring as fine jewelry, avoid sleeping or showering in it, and the points will last generations. Lifetime warranty covers stone repair from manufacturing defect.
Why is marquise considered an old soul cut? + Marquise peaked in popularity during the Edwardian, Art Deco, and 1970s eras. It is associated with vintage estate jewelry, heirloom rings, and the era of long elegant hands. Modern engagement ring shopping skews heavily toward round and oval. Choosing marquise reads as deliberate, as preferring the language of an older era over a current trend. The cut signals taste shaped by reading and looking, not by social feeds.
Is 3 carats too big for a marquise? + A 3 carat marquise is 14.10mm long, which is the visual length of approximately a 4.5 carat round. Marquise wears larger than its actual carat weight because the eye traces the long axis of the stone. On most hands the 3 carat reads as substantial without becoming impractical. If you are between sizes, marquise is the cut where length flatters the finger most. We recommend asking for a free print at home sizer at info@dracodiamond.com.
Which metal should I choose? + Yellow gold reads the most historically accurate, marquise cuts were almost always set in yellow gold during their Edwardian and Louis XV peaks. White gold and platinum give a cleaner modern read and let the diamond do the work. Rose gold sits romantic and pairs well with the vintage shape. Platinum is the most durable for daily wear and recommended for engagement use. Silver delivers the white gold effect at the lowest price point. All gold options are solid 10K, 14K, or 18K, never plated.

We are committed to making your entire experience a pleasant one, from ordering to delivery.

Every Draco Diamond piece is built to last. Solid gold settings, not plated. Prongs set to hold. Clasps and links engineered for daily wear, not display. Each stone is IGI certified VS+ clarity minimum, E-F color, individually verified against its grading report before it ships. If a piece does not meet that standard, it does not leave. What arrives at your door is built the way a piece at this price point should be built — and backed by a lifetime authenticity warranty if it ever falls short.

Your piece does not exist until you order it. Every Draco Diamond is made to order in 1 to 2 weeks, then inspected against its IGI certificate before it ships. This is how we guarantee you receive a new piece built to your exact specifications, not something pulled from inventory that has been handled before.

Made to order does not mean harder to return. Our 30-day return window, free prepaid label, and full refund apply regardless of how your piece was produced. If it is not right, the return process is identical to any standard online purchase.

Every order ships free via fully insured carrier with signature-required delivery and real-time tracking. Your piece arrives in 14 to 21 days from order — 1 to 2 weeks production followed by 2 to 7 days shipping depending on your location. All shipments are insured for the full purchase price at no additional cost.

Return shipping is also free. If you need to send a piece back, we provide a prepaid fully insured return label. You pay nothing in either direction.

All shipments arrive in unmarked outer packaging with no external branding or indication of contents. The shipping label shows only our business name. Inside, your piece is presented in full Draco Diamond premium packaging. This protects both security during delivery and the surprise for any gift or proposal.

Return any unworn piece within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We pay return shipping both ways. We provide a prepaid fully insured return label at no cost to you. No restocking fee. No conditions beyond the piece being unworn and returned with original packaging and IGI documentation.

Made to order does not affect this policy. The return process is the same regardless of how your piece was produced. Email info@dracodiamond.com with your order number and we respond within 24 hours with a return label and clear next steps.

Every Draco Diamond piece is guaranteed to be exactly what its IGI certificate states. Forever. This covers:

  • Diamond specifications — carat weight, color grade, clarity grade, and cut grade match the IGI certificate exactly
  • Metal purity — 10K, 14K, or 18K gold as specified, verified against stated standards
  • Authenticity — every diamond is a genuine IGI certified lab-grown diamond, chemically identical to mined diamonds
  • Manufacturing integrity — settings, prongs, and clasps built to hold

If the piece ever fails to match what is certified, we fix it, replace it, or refund it in full. Your choice. At no cost to you. This guarantee does not expire.

Every diamond is certified by the International Gemological Institute, the world's leading independent grading authority for lab-grown diamonds. Your IGI certificate documents exact carat weight, color grade, clarity grade, cut quality, polish, and symmetry. It is an independent third-party record of exactly what you received.

Every piece is verified against its certificate before it ships. If a piece does not match its IGI specifications, it does not leave. The certificate ships with your order. You can verify any certificate independently at igi.org/verify using the report number on your document.

Every piece arrives in Draco Diamond presentation packaging designed to hold the piece safely and present it well. Engagement rings arrive in a deluxe presentation box ready for a proposal moment. All pieces include the IGI grading report, a Draco Diamond authenticity document, and a care guide. The packaging also serves as long-term storage for your certificate and documentation.
